Example 2: Case where a group with a large manufacturing equipment manufacturing and selling counterfeit toner cartridges was exposed

An investigation focusing on the epicenter of logistics in Heyuan City, Guangdong province, China identified a group based in Heyuan City that manufactured and sold counterfeit toner cartridges of brands of JBMIA members.

In September 2021, JBMIA requested the Heyuan City Public Security Bureau to uncover it, and the group’s manufacturing bases and warehouse were all successfully seized and searched.

From this detection, 1,920 counterfeit toner cartridges of 5 brands (Toshiba, Kyocera, Sharp, Konica Minolta, and Fuji Xerox) and 7 large manufacturing machines were confiscated, and the total of 3 people, the principal offender and two parties involved, were arrested. The People’s Court of Yuancheng District, Heyuan City, Guangdong Province sentenced the 3 arrestees to a prison sentence and a fine (the principal offender: sentence of 1 year and 6 months in prison and a fine of 70,000 yuan).
